In Loving Memory Of Katie Collman

In Loving Memory Of Katlyn Collman
Her name was Katie Collman
She was only 10 years old
On Jan.25,2005 Katie was abducted near her home
While returning from an errand all alone
In a small southern town of Crothersville,Indiana
Where every neighbor knew eachother
The whole town was shocked and alarmed
That anyone in their close knit community would cause any harm
A'las five days later hearts would truly break
On Jan.30,2005 Her lifeless lil' body was found
Twenty miles away in a creek
From their once thought safe hometown
Oddly enough the perpetrators' guilt
Would overtake him through it all
Cause when Katies' body was found and retrieved
Three days later on Feb.2nd,2005 Charles Hickman age 20 would confess after questioning of the town police
The reason seems that Katie seen him and others doing drugs
They say the investigation is still ongoing
Along with a small town that's left in mourning
I will see Katies face plastered in my mind
Along with other little girls that were victims
of simuliar crimes
All leaving their loved ones behind
The saddest thing is that Katies great grandmother has outlived her
Left to mourn the loss of her great granddaughter
Dear Father God I look up and ask when will this end?
When will all little children be safe again?
To all that reads this poem, please remember
to pray for the families of these tragedies
and for GOD... to be put back into this dying society !!
