For days I prayed for you to go back to sea
Many tears  I have shed for the
devastation of our country
Time is passing and their anger grows
Due to neglect of our people as a whole
America ...the most giving land of all
Has death from the delay of humanity call
People are starving,thirsty and
some being raped and abused
Riots breaking out ,our nation is confused
Where is  OUR  government and their compassion
In our land of the red, white, and blue
How is all this happening?
Many lives were taken at the beginning
Daily the death toll rises without ending
The hurricane in itself caused much devastation
Then to add to the already bad situation
Looting,shooting,and inhumane frustration
Along with water moccasins,snakes,dead bodies
Fire ants,pollution,mosquitoes and debri
How many more lives will be loss or taken
Before these human beings are brought to safety
Father God in heaven above
Please hear their cry for salvation
Know that we as a people didn't
remove you from our nation
Your laws are written upon our hearts
Yet our lands have turned to ruin
For Our God they chose to remove
From schools,and government and
sadly some homes
Then the lawmakers wonder what's going wrong?
Hear our plea for your return
Return us to " One Nation Under God "
I pray for Hope to be restored to Katrina's
victims and the lost dear Lord

A Million Moments

The secret to life is living it ... one day at a time

Our lives are made up of a million moments, spent in a million different ways.

Some are spent searching for love, peace and harmony.

Others are spent surviving day to day.

But there is no greater moment than when we find that life,

with all its joys and sorrows, is meant to be lived one day at a time.

It's in this knowledge that we discover the most wonderful truth of all.

We have it within our power to be fully satisfied and live a life with true meaning.

One day at a time ... we have that ability, through cherishing each moment and rejoicing in each dream.

We can experience each day anew, and with this fresh start we have what it takes to make all of our dreams come true.

Each day is new, and living one day at a time enables us to truly enjoy life and live it to the fullest.

Sermon for Matthew 18

Announcing itself with shrieking, 145-mph winds, Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast just outside New Orleans on Monday, submerging entire neighborhoods up to their roofs, swamping Mississippi's beachfront and blowing out windows in hospitals, hotels and high-rises. The night before landfall the Mayor of New Orleans said that this was the One. The One we had all feared. The perfect storm. He even described it, on Sunday night, as a catastrophe of biblical proportions.

Even though the brunt of the storm just missed New Orleans and it appeared the city would be spared, the levees broke and waters came rushing in on Tuesday. The worst case scenario has come true. South Mississippi and Alabama were swamped by the storm surge; New Orleans by levee failure. It is, at times like these, that we need to take heart and remember these words: "For where two or three come together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."

When we come together in pain: There He is with us. When we come together to pray. He is with us. When we come together in compassion to help. He is with us. Where do you find Jesus? That's our question for the day. In Matthew's Gospel Jesus makes an incredible promise to us: "Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

Think about that. When a married couple kneels together beside their bed in prayer, Jesus is there. When a family bows their heads to give thanks at the dinner table, he is there. When a pastor has a prayer beside a bed in a hospital with someone who is suffering, he is there. When storms destroy our communities and we Christians bind together, he is there. Want to know where to find Jesus? Here's the secret: Get together with someone else who is a follower of his for the express purpose of studying his word, or worshiping his name or lifting up petitions in prayer, or binding the broken hearted, and he will be there, guaranteed!

2. In Knowing This We Find Our Strength
3. The Surest Place to Find God Is in the Fellowship of Other Believers
