Happy St. Patty's Day Friend

Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Patricius was a teen from Great Briton
Who was kidnapped and taken to Ireland
Held captive for six years he herded sheep
Escaped and went back to his home land
During his time of captivity he had dreams
Of teaching the Irish Christianity
He believed his dreams were from God
After fifteen years of study he became a priest
His return to Ireland was welcomed
He taught lessons from the books of apostles
About Jesus, His miracles, and attitudes
Not a nature based pagan religion
He wanted to incorporate the Irish ways
into Christianity. He kept the sun on the cross
which became the famous Celtic cross
He also kept fire as an Easter celebration
His love of the Irish was strong and wanted
To live out his life in Ireland
It was myth that he chased the snakes,
or taught the trinity on the clover
It is believed that he died on March 17, 460AD
May St. Patrick bless all who read his
wonderful legacy.

To meet you,
May the wind be always
At your back,
May the sun shine warm
Upon your face,
And the rains fall soft
Upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God keep you in the hollow of his hand
