Christmas season as a child brings back alot of fond memories. My sister and I were only a year and a half apart in age and we shared in everything.I can remember making decorations for our christmas tree that was always freshly cut down. One thing we'd make was popcorn and string it around the tree. Also in school they would let us decorate paper ornaments cut out in different shapes and we'd glue glitter and some with our pictures and macaroni in different shapes on them. Also we'd make some out of eggs so pretty. We'd blow out the center of the egg and decorate with glitter and glue and use yarn to hang them from the tree, also pine cones and glue and glitter. We weren't wealthy but very appreciative of any  gift we got.We never got gobs of gifts but both my sister and I checked out as we unwrapped what the other one got cause we knew we shared everything. From our room,to clothes,to dolls and friends.Mama would make a big Christmas dinner and I can always remember my favorite thing was her baked apple dumplings homemade, the smell went through the whole house. On Christmas eve she would make homemade hot chocolate and put marshmallows in it and have some kind of goodie and we got to open one gift.We also loved to sing Christmas carrols. Then way too early it seemed we had to go to bed for Santa to come and I always tried to stay awake cause I wanted to see Santa but I was told he could not come unless we were all fast asleep.I would try to play possum in hopes to catch him but by closing my eyes ,I would fall off to sleep. My Dad would come in the room and announce before we went to sleep of where the news helicopter had last spotted Santa and his reindeer.Awe...the good ole' days. Now both my parents have passed as well as my only sister but the memories shall always be close to my heart. Here's wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

~*~Jesus Is The Reason For the Season~*~
Christmas time has always been a joyful time of year for our family. Now that my children are grown I do miss waking up to their voices all happy and excited that Santa had left them gifts under the tree the night before.
However; for the past 13 or so years Santa visits their homes and their children. Now in my home it is celebrated as the true meaning of Christmas.
It is Jesus' birthday. My son Shawn usually comes over christmas eve and we bake cookies and we listen and sing to christmas carrols. We decided to have another new tradition last year.Instead of waiting for everyone to arrive in the afternoon after they had their christmas from Santa,we would all gather around and say Happy Birthday to Jesus.Well...now we will along with having the cookies, and finger foods ,have a birthday cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to him.I have my home decorated with angels and inspirational decor, christmas carrols play and we pass out gifts and count our blessings, and enjoy all the goodies and family being together.Jesus is the reason for the season, praises be to him forevermore.May everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
